Week 5 initial Sketch Up designs part 1 / process - project development
This is my initial sketch on Sketch Up part 1, where I tried to create just the basic outline of the building so I could have a better visual. For this, i am using the website version Sketch Up.
First, I opened my account and selected "create new"
I started with drawing on a square base for my building by selecting the pencil tool from the left toolbar and using the red, blue, and green lines for direction.
Then I clicked on the rectangle tool from the left toolbar and selected the circle shape to draw two circles for the towers.
I then selected the push/pull tool again from the same toolbar to drag out the shapes for the base, I did that by clicking on the circles and then moving the selector upwards. I selected two different heights as the original idea with the towers.
Next, I attempted in creating the exterior ceiling design with the pencil tool and connecting the lines with each tower. I also wanted to try to add the columns attached to the design and experiment with the placement
After the outline was done I wanted to add some materials, I did that by going to the right toolbar this time, then clicked on "materials". First, I chose a glass/metal material for my towers which I found in the "glass and mirrors" category, and then a grass materials from the "landscape, fencing and vegetation" category for the base.
This was the process of creating the try-out sketch for my project design. This is not the final sketch design as I will be attempting to develop it in the following parts of creating my design on sketch up and then finalizing it in the last part with the full structure and details.
Good process and commentary - good to see how this has developed since this initial effort with Sketchup.
