Week 4 Further Research - Büro Ole Scheeren

Büro Ole Scheeren is a German architect, urbanist, and principal of the "Büro Ole Scheeren group", their offices being in Beijing, Hong Kong, Berlin, and Bangkok. He is known for creating one of the largest buildings in the world which he also partnered with Rem Koolhaas for. His futuristic vision is shown through his work with his designs being "complex" and advanced with technological systems. He also worked for multiple architectural forms in Germany. 

In addition, he has designed apartment towers, called "The interlace" which were completed in 2013. The blocks are vertically placed on top and next to each other with different line layers and interlocking, there are 31 blocks and each one is six floors.

His other creative works like the "Maha Nahkon" Skyscraper, the "Shenzhen wave" workplace building, and other projects show his ability to develop futuristic designs while meeting all necessities of the work and living requirements. 

He won awards like the "Building of the year award" 2015, the "Best Futura Project - MIPIM Asia award" 2012, the "Best tall building worldwide" and more. He was part of exhibitions such as the "International Highrise Award Frankfurt", "London's Hayward Gallery", the "Rotterdam Film Festival" and more.

  1. Antria, like the Kandinsky post, there needs to be CONTEXT for the research - I am struggling to see how this relates to your project, unless you make it a lot clearer. There has to be a reason why you have included it but this is not clear. I suggest you edit this, perhaps include some of your development drawings to show how this research is impacting your study this term.
