Initial Research

Today I will be researching architect Frank Gehry for my project.

Frank Gehry is a Canadian-American architect who is known for his futuristic designs, modern shapes/structures, and unique "fabrications".  He also uses out-of-the-ordinary materials such as "corrugated metal lends", titanium cladding, metal "Blomitectural modular parts", etc. His use of corrugated metal gives his work an "unfinished" look. Gehry's architecture changed the "urban landscape" by using innovative ideas and materials.

His style was also described as "deconstructivist" which means going against traditional structures. His designs are influenced by Baroque Sculpture and hobbies like sailing which are reflected in some of his work with shapes like "sails, waves and sea creatures", flow, and curves of his structures and he was also inspired by visual art.

Some of his most famous works are the "Walt Disney concert hall" downtown Los Angeles, the "Dancing House" Prague, and "Guggenheim Museum" Bilbao, Spain.
