Tribrid Building project - Architecture initial research
Today I am doing some research for my architecture project. I am going to be writing about a few brilliant architects that my teacher mentioned and that I have looked up their work for inspiration such as Oscar Niemeyer and Norman Foster.
Oscar Niemeyer :
Oscar Niemeyer is known for his modern structural architecture, his inspiration when he started working as an architect was 'The work of Le Corbusier" and he stated that he likes more "free-flowing curves than straight lines" where he also developed buildings that resembles the figure of a woman's body. One of his most famous works is his designs for most of the civic and government buildings of Brasilia and also plenty of buildings outside of Brazil.

source He mostly prefers to use concrete for his materials to create organic forms, concrete was an easy material to get from Brazil and that helped to have local craftsmen work on the buildings. For example, he used concrete columns for the Cathedral of Brazilia.
Norman Foster :
Norman Foster is an architect famous for his modern and high-tech buildings made of steel and glass, that is because he likes to use natural light, he said "Quite apart from the humanistic and poetic qualities of natural light there are also energy implications". Some of his many amazing and famous works are "The Hearst Tower", the apple park offices/headquarters, and "The Gherkin".Norman Foster bases his designs on "expressions of values", he combines "integration of societal values", flexibility for future usage, adaptive reusability, and creating environmentally sustainable buildings.
