Week 6 Final Design Sketch Up / Process part 2 - Project Development
This is part 2 of my process for my final design. I will be creating the surrounding of the buildings and adding more details.
After I was done creating the towers I added a bigger base that would represent the surroundings of the location. Then I added walls to create a room and then added materials to make the sky and the ground. I used the pencil tool and rectangle tool from the left toolbar.
Then I started drawing the outlines that surround the buildings and roads to create a roundabout that leads to the underground parking lot and back to the road. I used the pencil tool for this.
Next, I put materials on the road and sidewalks, choosing the concrete and grass/rock materials from the right toolbar, "materials" and then the "landscape, fencing, vegetation" and "asphalt\concrete" categories.
After I started building the opening entrance for the underground parking lot. First, I drew it with the pencil tool, then I added walls again with the same tool, first a rectangle and then a half-angled box behind it. Then I decided to dress it with grass materials to hide it as it would be used only as an entrance where the road leads to the parking lot.
Next, I started adding details, like benches, trees, and also added a pathway to each tower that leads to the entrances. (The benches will be fixes in place and made out of concrete/rock to make it look part of the environment)
Then I added the doors, I couldn't place a 3D door from the materials because it couldn't be placed correctly how I wanted it to, so I decided to draw them on using the pencil tool and then place a framing with the concrete from the materials and glass for the slide doors.
This is how it turned out. I am pleased with the result and happy with how it turned out better than my original idea. This is the final outcome and next, I will be designing the underground parking lot and then follow up with the elevations and floor plans.
