Week 6 Final design Sketch Up / Process part 1 - Project Development
This will be my process of creating my final sketch design on Sketch Up. I changed a few ideas but this is the final developed design. The new ideas were inspired by Tom Fruin and Wassily Kandinsky.
First, I opened a new document
Then I created a base just for the tower which I will change afterward. I also put the new shape pf the
towers, polygons instead of circles. I used the pencil tool and the rectangle tool with the polygon option from the left toolbar.
Then I heightened the towers using the push/pull tool from the left toolbar and dragged each surface of the towers upwards.
Then I started to apply the new design for the exterior windows/walls with the pencil tool by creating small/large squares and rectangles.
After I was done drawing one of the lines I picked the push/pull tool and started dragging some shapes outwards and some inwards to create the texture of the design.
After I was done with the wall design on both towers I started putting on materials and colours on them. This was also a change from my previous idea, deciding to change the colour palette from grey/black to primary colours with some additional materials like coloured glass and black concrete to break some of the repeated patterns. I picked the materials from the right toolbar in the "materials" section. I also added the ceiling design, I was thinking of developing it and trying to create walls in between the gaps but it wasn't possible as the lines were not all connected.
This is the final result for part one, in part two I will continue with the surroundings and details of the buildings.
This is a much better realisation of your idea than the first couple of designs. It would be good to see some more information about the 'canopy' and how that will work, the materials you are going to use etc.
