Design building sketches - Tribrid Building part 1
These are my first design building sketches using SketchUp
I first started by clicking on "start modeling" and then "create new" to open a new board.
Then I started creating the first tower, using the pencil icon tool from the toolbar on the left. I first drew a square using the coloured lines for guidance and then started dragging the lines up to create the walls.
Then I did the same thing for the second and third towers but this time using the red line for help and tried to align the proportions perfectly between the three towers.
In the next picture, i am showing the bridge connecting all three, I wasn't sure if wanted to leave just two bridges thinking that it would look better, or connect all three with the idea that people wouldn't have to cross two buildings to get to the last one from either side, so I decided to add the third one as well.
Then I chose the material for my buildings by going to the right toolbar this time, I clicked on "materials" and then I anticipated between choosing glass or something with metal elements. I ended up choosing glass even though there wasn't much of a difference to tell apart but it was close to what I envisioned.
Next, the general idea for the buildings was done so I decided to add a base which I should have done at the start, I did that by using the pencil tool and just creating a ground under the buildings.
Then I wanted to add grass material for the ground by going to the materials on the right toolbar and then selecting the "landscape, fencing and vegetation" section, and then choosing the grass I wanted. I then drew with the pencil tool a path towards the buildings which I then filled with a rock/grass material to try to make it look a little better as a general image, I found that from the same section on the materials
Then lastly I tried to correct the lines for the path and corrected small details like the bridge and some lines that I missed before. This is the result of this initial sketch design.
Good work on process - do add your design decsions as well as technical process here so it is clear what you are aiming for in terms of your project
